Browning Citori 725 Over Under Shotgun: Precision with FireLite Trigger

The over/under platform remains the choice for competitive shooters and serious upland hunters who demand consistent swing dynamics, clear sightlines, and fast follow-up shots. A modern sporting-grade over/under blends refined ergonomics with advanced internal systems to deliver predictable patterns and tunable trigger feel.

Design and Ergonomics

The receiver uses a low-profile steel design with a silver nitride finish and gold-accented 725 engraving that brings your eye closer to the barrel axis for faster target acquisition. The ventilated extra-high top rib paired with a ventilated side rib and a ported barrel reduces mirage and improves target visibility. The stock is Grade III/IV walnut with a gloss oil finish, close-radius pistol grip, and a right palm swell for consistent hand placement. Heaviest configurations tip the scales at about 7 pounds 10 ounces—balanced for smooth swing but stable enough to track fast clay targets.

Barrels, Chokes, and Forcing Cones

Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones and five Invector-DS extended choke tubes (FIMMICSK) give predictable patterns and easy choke changes. Depending on gauge, rifles come with either three or five interchangeable chokes, letting you tune pattern density for skeet, sporting clays, or upland shots.

Trigger, Action, and Controls

The new FireLite mechanical trigger provides lighter pull weights than previous iterations, improving consistency for high-volume shooting. The firearm ships with Browning’s triple trigger system (three supplied, two for left-hand use), enabling shooters to customize trigger shoe and pull length. Other features include hammer ejectors, a top-tang barrel selector safety, and a HiViz Pro-Comp sight with an ivory mid-bead for fast target pickup.

Performance and Applications

Available across a range of gauges—traditional 12 gauge configurations are listed alongside smaller 28, 30, or 32 options—this platform suits both competitive shooters and hunters. The 12 gauge delivers versatility and firepower for sporting clays, while 28/30/32 gauges reduce recoil for long days in the field. Inflex Technology recoil pad and ported barrels help manage felt recoil for sustained accuracy.
